I recently graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Italian Studies from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.

During my time at Trinity, I pursued a full load of classes each semester from a variety of disciplines, even though I was naturally drawn to sociology and Italian. Some of my favorite classes at Trinity include:
- Racism (Sociology)
- Analyzed race as a social construct, and how it is connected to racism as its material consequences
- Race and Urban Space (American Studies)
- Investigated policies such as redlining, HOAs, public health codes, and how those policies directly correlate to our material conditions
- Italian Cinema (Italian Studies)
- Watched and analyzed 20+ Italian films spanning decades
- Malcolm X (History & International Studies)
- Studied Malcolm X’s life through a variety of critical lenses and mediums
- Advanced Creative Poetry (English)
- Wrote, peer reviewed, workshopped classmate poetry weekly
In many classes, I produced engaging visual projects, some of which I had the opportunity to present outside of the classroom:
- The Role of Student Journalism in Student Movements
- Looking at two critical moments in Trinity’s activist history, I analyzed how various student publications contributed to the selected student movements, effectively identifying problems and providing solutions for the improvement of the student paper I would later lead
- The Carrie Saxon Perry project
- Our group collected oral histories and lost information to compile the first archival summary of Hartford’s first Black female mayor
In earning my degree, I also gained proficiency in software such as Stata, ArcGIS, WordPress, and Adobe Suites.
At Trinity, my involvement and learning went far beyond my classroom responsibilities. I was Editor-in-Chief of our campus newspaper for two years, founded a climate justice group, founded a religious/cultural group, closely mentored students through our first-year seminar program, presented a divestment proposal to the Board of Trustees, led the Writing Center as a Head Tutor, and participated in other, more sporadic projects during my four years (not to mention maintaining a social life, sleeping, and eating).
